13 Reception Table Ideas for Your Wedding

Looking for inspiration for your own unique celebration? We have you covered here—get ready for the dinner (or brunch) parties of your dreams.

We’ve gathered, from the weddings we’ve personally photographed, thirteen reception table designs into one post! This lovely table settings collection ranges from simple elegance to wild greenhouse favorites to incredible one-of-a-kind vintage finds. Enjoy!

1. Eclectic Thrifted Vintage Table Settings

Terrapin Village Bed & Breakfast in Oregonia, Ohio was better than the couple could ever imagine. They used antique embroidered napkins, vintage plates that they thrifted and set-up the family-style dinner in the property’s blacksmith barn.

The rest of this beautiful Airbnb wedding can be seen here.

2. Enchanting Garden Party Reception Rounds

With only four tables of guests, the reception was emotional and personal. Each setting was beautifully set, and each guest was served a hot meal of Maryland rock fish, red potatoes, asparagus and soft dinner rolls with any drink you could ever want. See the entire Scottish, Princess Bride-esque wedding story here.

3. Industrial Woodland Coffee Shop Wedding Reception

The couple brought woodland elegance indoors for their wedding reception at Rust Belt Coffee in Toledo, Ohio, giving all their guests mugs as favors to fit the rad theme. Their unique wedding can be seen here.

4. Unconventional Brunch Picnic Blanket Reception

This wedding started with a first look and personal vows in the early am, then the couple met their guests for a picnic blanket brunch and strawberry scones while loved ones shared speeches; the wedding celebration ended with the ceremony. The couple decided to spend their first moments/day married with just one another. You can see this nontraditional brunch wedding here.

5. Airy White Tented Wedding Reception

Another lovely tented affair at the Orchard House B&B in Eastern Columbus. White table clothes accented by royal blue napkins.

6. Dreamy Elegant Courtyard Wedding Reception

DC Ranch’s courtyard was a like a dream. With bistro lights strung over the open spaces, and the tree-wrapped fairy lights reflecting like stars in the wine glasses, it was the most romantic setting to reunite and celebrate with so many that the couple loves. See this gorgeous Old-Hollywood Inspired wedding in Scottsdale, Arizona here.

7. Greenhouse Succulent Wedding Reception Tables

This Laurel Hall wedding reception in northern Indianapolis felt like the scene from a Jane Austen novel. The venue itself looks like a castle, and the couple perfectly planned the garden aesthetic with shades of greens and succulent favors for each of their guests.

8. Graceful Summer Round Tables

The bride’s dad built the teepees for both the ceremony and the reception, and the groom’s mom, by trade an interior designer extraordinaire, helped with arranging the flowers and tables and overall reception and ceremony decor, including the bagel boards, flower crowns and bouquets. The sun painted the reception with it’s unrelenting, but welcomed light and cast leaf shaped shadows across the gathering of celebrating guests. It followed the couple throughout the evening with its soft, romantic glow until it melted into purple twilight as they danced the night away.

9. Nontraditional Garden Floor Table Reception

The evening was spent sitting at hand built long floor tables on rugs and cushions, and enjoying a completely vegan feast prepared by the bride’s mom and aunt. You can see the rest of this French storybook wedding day here.

10. Natural Autumn Elegance in this Wedding Reception

Clear tents shielded the guests from the gentle rain while they enjoyed a family-style candle-lit dinner. Get more outdoor autumn wedding inspiration from the full gallery here.

11. Wild Greens Table Runner on These Reception Tables

This couple created their dream Lake Michigan coastal forest wedding with a tented reception, long wooden tables and wild greenery for table runners. Interested in this venue? Check out the Leelanau School in Glen Arbor.

12. Skeleton Tent Upscale Sunset Reception

This couple’s wedding was the perfect balance of elegance, nature and whimsy.
The Equestrian in Dayton is a beautiful new wedding venue (also a full working equestrian center); the property has everything—from woodlands to open field and pastures of grazing horses. The owner’s hospitality and warmth made us all feel at home.
Samantha Joy Events brought the couple’s vision to life with her expertise in style and design; and Floral V Designs even crafted floral chandeliers (we were enamored by them).

13. Gold Accents and Lace for this Indoor Wedding Reception

This couple celebrated their nuptials at a lake-side summer camp in Naples, Maine. The camp vibe was there, but also the upscale feel you’d expect from a downtown venue. It was well-rounded in nostalgia and hope for the future and adorned in beautiful gold accents, lace, charcuterie boards and lit candles.
