Fairytale Wedding at Castle Farms
This wedding is featured on the beautiful publication Ruffled, see the article here. It’s also featured by Diamond Bridal Gallery, and the German publication, Hochzeitsportal 24.
Megan planned her dream fairytale wedding from afar as she and Rainer live in Ohio and Castle Farms is located in Charlevoix (which is in Northwestern Michigan). Since their wedding was going to be at such a magically aesthetic place, it was only natural that the getting ready locations match the feeling—the Mushroom Houses were perfect. Both homes seemed to have come straight from the story of Snow White.
The weather was perfect for a courtyard ceremony, and Meg & Rainer said their “I dos” beneath a tower doorframe that had been wonderfully festooned with flowers by Bloom Floral Design.
We took advance of the incredible floral installation for some formal portraits.
Cocktail hour was held in the Knight’s Courtyard.
Because of the pandemic, Meg and Rainer thought they would have to have a tented reception outside. However, the restrictions were lifted just prior to their date and it made this precious couple’s original dream come true. Their reception was held in the stunning Knight’s Castle.
DJ Casey Rusch hyped the guests for the wedding party entrance by having them stand to their feet and spin their napkins in the air.
Every detail of Meg & Rainer’s wedding was exceptionally beautiful, but their dinner toasts were something so remarkably special. As the sunset light poured into the hall and softly fell on every face, both fathers (bride’s and groom’s) gave their speeches—there were so many laughs, tears, and treasured moments.
Everyone in witness could see just how much this couple loves each other, especially as both Meg and Rainer cried multiples during the toasts, and their ceremony.
Something in particular that sticks out to us happened during the father speeches: Rainer leaned in and kissed Meg on her temple and then again on her shoulder…multiple times.
It was so raw and candid, and seeing their incredible bond made our hearts burst.
Rainer’s dad spoke a special honor to the matriarch of the family, Rainer’s grandma.
Megan’s sister and Rainer’s best friend both gave toasts. They had everyone laughing and crying. And it was perfect.
After the toast and special first dances, we took Meg & Rainer back outside to the Knight’s Tower for a few more portraits. Both mentioned how nice it was to take a step away with each other and breathe in the moment before jumping right into the party.
The couple cut the cake and then the party started!
Trisha Strickland, the MI Wedding Painter, worked on this masterpiece all day. She started with the reception space before anyone arrived, and then added the couple’s first dance to scene as it was happening and after.
It was an incredible day and we had an absolute blast. Meg & Rainer are one of the most genuine and loving couple’s we’ve met.
If it were possible, we would love to relive all these moments with them again.
