Danielle & Evan live in Toronto, but love the desert. They’ve described it to us as “the most magical place. Maybe it’s the air or the sunshine, but something about it just makes us happy.”

Danielle’s parents live right by Pinnacle Peak in North Scottsdale, so the couple visits often. The more they visit, the more they fall in love with its serenity and the Sonoran sunsets. Danielle and Evan contacted us in 2019 about this incredible dream they had for their wedding in September 2020. However, like so many other couples they were forced to postpone this dream due to the pandemic. The next year came around, and USA/Canadian border restrictions were still in place. Not wanting to compromise any aspect of their dream wedding, they didn’t want to risk it, and decided to postpone a second year. To them, the wait was worth it. In fact, the theme of their day became “can’t rush a good thing.” And their wedding in Fall 2022 was the best thing.

One of our favorite things that happened on Danielle and Evan’s wedding day was an unexpected storm that rolled across the desert. Up until this point, the day was bright and clear. However, right before the ceremony was supposed to start, the sky turned an ominous black. Although the wind became an issue with the signage, their incredible wedding planner, Kris, quickly worked to stabilize the situation, keeping everything on track.

The drama of the clouds created the most breathtaking backdrop for Evan and Danielle; during their sunset cocktail hour, the lingering clouds turned an incredible, mind bending pink. For a couple that specifically chose a destination in Arizona because of the “Sonoran sunsets”—nothing could have come closer to perfection.
