In a Quiet Piece of Wild Paradise, Elk California

There are so many things we could say about this sweet couple. We felt instantly connected as we (Eastlyn & Joshua) are similar to them in that we’re both wedding photographer couples, love adventure & have complimentary personalities—Emma, being more quiet and Wesley, outgoing…just as it is with me and Joshua.

We met Emma & Wesley at the Wilderness Retreat hosted by Someplace Wild at Cuffey’s Cove Ranch in Elk, California.

The ranch lies on a beautiful piece of property adorned by pastures, coastal forest, foothill mountains and is directly across the road (route 1) from the rugged coastline of the Pacific Ocean. Almost everything we love about California (our favorite state) is found right here.

The estate that housed us is an old historic home filled with Turkish rugs and antiques (even a potbelly stove in the kitchen); and the floors are original hardwood. With numerous large windows, every room was filled with dreamy natural light; and the view, from any one, was a peaceful paradise.

We spent three days in this home with eight other photographers…put a bunch of photographers together, at least in our case (we love photography!) and of course a photo session was bound to happen.

On the second day, Emma and Wesley graciously invited us to explore the nearby beach with them. We brought our camera along and these cuties let us photograph them.

Emma and Wesley are a talented duo (check them out on Insta here), but more than that—kindhearted and sincere people. Our time with them is definitely one of our favorite memories from Elk.
