Backyard Fall Wedding in Cincinnati

Melanie & Josh

Melanie always dreamed of getting married at her childhood home, but with the amount of people they knew that they wanted to include in the celebration, she never thought it would be possible. However, because of the pandemic and the need to cut the guest list short for everyone’s safety, her childhood dream actually became a reality.

Melanie & Josh held their lovely intimate ceremony next to her parent’s home on top of a hill that overlooks a stunning view of the lake. It was a pleasantly clear and warmer day for mid-October, so the sunset gave off a beautiful glow through the peak fall foliage that lined the driveway.

Bistro lights were strung across the backyard, and guests sat at round tables spaced appropriately apart. Clementine Caravan served drinks (including an amazing hot apple cider), and Cincinnati’s famed The Eagle catered their delicious meal.

Before the drive to the family home, however, Melanie, her mom, and sisters got ready at the brand new and stunning Lytle Park Hotel in downtown Cincinnati. Josh met us there for a private first look with his soon-to-be wife on the rooftop terrace. They both cried happy tears as they exchanged hand-written letters to one another in the warm afternoon sun.

It entire day was simple, intimate, and meaningful—exactly the type of event we love to photograph.

We hope you enjoy these photos as much as we did witnessing the moments in them.
